Dust 2 Callouts

Any oldies here? We’re having some nostalgia today, so let’s talk about the good old classic! Dust 2 is simply one of the most famous and long-standing maps in the CS arena. The original version of the map, Dust, was popular among Counter-Strike players even before it underwent a master upgrade.

Since then, it still remains close to our hearts. Even long after the CS2 release, in January 2024, Dust 2 became the most popular map of the week on Steam Workshop. The reason for such an impressive map's popularity is that it's perfectly balanced, and both teams have equal chances of winning.

If you're a beginner who wants to enter the pro scene and compete with elite players, you must learn all the callouts on the Dust 2 map. It’s crucial for your gaming experience and ability to communicate clearly and quickly. Knowing Dust 2 map callouts allows you to receive and give timely information about enemy locations, which is essential if you want to climb the top CS2 ranks fast. With that in mind, let's get started.

Dust 2 Callouts

A SITE

First, we’ll explore all Dust 2 callouts in CS2 for the A Site. You'll discover the callouts for the entire zone and other essential things you should note when playing this map.

A SITE

Outside Long

Outside Long

The Outside Long connects the Long Doors and T Spawn. It's usually used by Terrorists to reach the A Site.

A Short/Bridge

A Short/Bridge

It’s the shortest way from the A Site to the Mid, hence the name. Some players also refer to it as the Bridge.

Stairs

Stairs

They are found between the Catwalk and A Short.

Stairs Cubby/Stairs Ninja

Stairs Cubby/Stairs Ninja

The little corner on the Stairs’ side. A decent hiding spot for CTs who want to prevent the A Site ambush.

Platform/A Plat

Platform/A Plat

The section that the plant area doesn't cover. It's a rather wide space between the A Short and the Bombsite.

Ninja

Ninja

A hidden location between the barrels and boxes on the A Plat is a common spot for "ninja" defusing, as you cannot be seen from the A Long.

Goose

Goose

Goose is the nickname for the spot because of the spray-painted image of a funny goose on one of the walls. It's another frequent hangout for AWPers or a cheeky place to hide from those approaching the A Plat via the A Short.

A Ramp

A Ramp

A Ramp is "the main road" from the A Site to A Long.

Barrels

Barrels

You can see these barrels near the base of the A Ramp's slanted corner. Snipers just love the place because it partially hides them from enemies.

Quad

Quad

A good hiding spot for Counter-Terrorists on the top of the Elevator and an excellent retaking position.

Safe Box

Safe Box

Along with the Default, it’s another potential place to plant the bomb on A. It is considered "safe" because the whole space view is shielded from all sides.

A Default

A Default

One of the most used CS2 Dust 2 callouts. Positioned at the very edge of the elevated platform, it offers unobstructed views in all directions.

Cat Boost/Short Boost

Cat Boost/Short Boost

Those are the boxes located at the end of the Catwalk near the A Short, and CTs use them as the boost to reach the A Short faster.

Elevator

Elevator

A popular boost position for CTs to play when retaking position. It's located near the CT Spawn.

A Car

A Car

On the right side of the A Long, there is an old vehicle. It's a standard defensive position for the A Short and A Long and is usually cleared by throwing a Molotov or a smoke.

Car Corner

Car Corner

One of the really specific Dust 2 callouts experienced players use to pinpoint the opponent’s exact location. It’s the corner near the A Car, close to the Long Corner.

A Cross

A Cross

The A Cross is the point where the A Long, A Site, and A CT Spawn meet. You should exercise caution in this open zone. Terrorists frequently smoke off the A Cross as they advance.

A Long

A Long

If you want to get from the Long Doors to A, all you need to do is go to this callout. Note that this is one of the Dust 2 callouts that offers almost no cover, so you need to create one with a smoke grenade.

Pit

Pit

A slightly inclined area at the end of the A Long where players can hide from the A Site and attack unsuspecting enemies.

Pit Plat

Pit Plat

The Pit Plat, as you can guess from the name, is the platform located near the Pit. AWPers have a clear view of the A Site from here.

Side Pit

Side Pit

One more area close to the Pit, well, right to the side of it. СTs can use the place to their advantage by waiting for players who try to get through the Long Doors.

Long Corner

Long Corner

This edge of a building is located straight after the Blue box and at the intersection of A Long and Pit. The corner is a safe spot for Counter-Terrorists when enemies try to push.

Blue/Crate

Blue/Crate

A huge blue cargo crate sits across from the Long Doors. Terrorists may use the box as cover when CTs push.

Long Doors

Long Doors

Here, you'll find two double doors separated by a small room. It's usually the first contact point between two teams.

B SITE

Next, we're moving to the Dust 2 callouts explanation for the B Site. Since B is smaller than A, it’s even less complicated. There is also only one primary entrance unless you're willing to go through the Mid and CT Spawns.

B SITE

B Window

B Window

The hole in the wall at the B Site corner serves as a window. Such an improvised sniper position is a good place to hold or retake the B.

Under Window

Under Window

This ambush-focused area with huge wooden crates is located at the B Site under the Window. Here, players usually encounter numerous close combat battles.

Scaffolding

Scaffolding

You'll find the scaffolding behind the B Window from the CT Mid side. This is a common vantage point for watching out for pushes from Mid to B.

B Doors

B Doors

The B Doors separate the CT spawn from the Bombsite. As a CT, you should always try to play from this position, as it provides excellent visibility of nearby tunnels and allows you to safely withdraw if necessary.

B Boxes

B Boxes

These boxes are outside the B Site near the B Doors.

B Platform/B Plat

B Platform/B Plat

The B Plat callout describes the elevated area close to the Bombsite. This is a poor defensive position due to the lack of cover.

Big Box

Big Box

As the name suggests, there is a big box between the B Plat and the B Site.

Double Stack

Double Stack

There are two boxes on top of each other. Some players enjoy using these to create interesting off-angle plays.

B Default

B Default

Near the brick wall beneath the B Window, there is the most popular planting location; you can even say the default one.

Back Plat

Back Plat

This is a good hiding spot for both teams’ AWPers. It's located behind the B Site's planting and provides a great view of the players coming from the Tunnels.

B Car

B Car

Located on the right of the Tunnels, it serves as a defensive spot for Counter-Terrorists. However, as the Car is located in the Closet, this is one of the Dust 2 callouts you use only when someone hides behind the vehicle.

Closet

Closet

The area with the Car on the B Site to the right as you leave the Tunnels.

Close Left & Right

Close Left
Close Right

There are two corners on both sides of the B entrance from the T side (Tunnels), which we call Close Left and Close Right. Those are nice places for Counter-Terrorists to attack advancing opponents.

B Boost

B Boost

A bunch of boxes in the Closet Right area that players use for the boosting tactic.

Fence

Fence

A wall in the B Site that favors Counter-Terrorists. They can stay here and wait for Terrorists without being seen. It even has a small hiding niche.

B Tunnels

B Tunnels

These Dust 2 map callouts in Counter-Strike 2 represent a large area that connects the B Site and T Spawn. Players usually narrow it to the Upper Tunnels and Outside Tunnels.

Outside Tunnels/Outer Tunnels (Right & Left)

Outside Tunnels/Outer Tunnels Right
Outside Tunnels/Outer Tunnels Left

An outside T area you need to get through before entering the B Tunnels. Pro players use two Dust 2 callouts associated with this spot—Right and Left Outer Tunnels—meaning someone can hide at this location either on the right or left side of the arch.

T Ramp

T Ramp

It’s a short road that leads you to the Outer (Outside) Tunnels and through them to B.

Upper Tunnels (Right & Left)

Upper Tunnels (Right & Left)

In this section of the Tunnels, Terrorists can turn left if they want to move to the B Site or turn right to the Middle.

T Plat

T Plat

A small space closest to the T Spawn, usually used by those who’re “saving.”

T Cubby

T Cubby

This set of wooden boxes in the T Plat’s corner is where you can hide and wait for chasers or lurkers.

MIDDLE AREA

Next on our callouts on Dust 2 in Counter-Strike 2 list is the Middle or the Mid. Here, you can either head straight for the A Site or use it as a flanking path into the Tunnels. Below are the common Dust 2 callouts in CS2 for the Middle area.

MIDDLE AREA

T Spawn

T Spawn

An area where T players spawn at the start of the round.

Lower Tunnels

Lower Tunnels

Accessible to you either from the B Tunnels or through the Mid and Mid Doors.

CT Spawn

CT Spawn

The spawn point where Counter-Terrorists start rounds. It's located under the A Short but accessible only through the Middle.

CT Mid/Bottom Mid

CT Mid/Bottom Mid

It's an open space between the B Site and the CT Spawn. It is also widespread to call it just the CT.

Mid Doors

Mid Doors

Also referred to simply as the Doors located in the Mid. Be careful going through these doors if you don't want to get a headshot from a sniper behind them. This is one of the most famous and easiest wallbang spots on Dust 2 and the initial sniper firefight location.

Truck

Truck

This car is positioned directly opposite the Mid Doors, providing a fantastic aiming spot for AWPers.

Catwalk

Catwalk

The Catwalk is on the side of the Mid and leads from the Mid to A Short, making it a great and somewhat safe spot to rotate between both locations.

Mid Cubby

Mid Cubby

A covert area near the Mid Doors from the CT side.

Xbox

Xbox

This one is located close to the Doors, and you can use the box to access the Catwalk or the A Short from the Lower Tunnels. It's a popular smoke spot because you can use it to block snipers' vision and protect your teammates.

Mid

Mid

The Mid refers to the non-callout region. It's the path between the Doors and the Top Mid that connects the exits, Suicide, Catwalk, and Tunnels.

Palm/Pole

Palm/Pole

The Palm is the Mid’s section pointing up towards the Catwalk's apex. The name "palm" comes from the fact that a palm tree once stood there in earlier versions of the Dust 2 map, which then was replaced by a pole.

Top Mid

Top Mid

Terrorists can use the Top Mid to access multiple doors, including Suicide, Mid, Catwalk, and the Outside Long Doors. Keep in mind that snipers frequently guard the area as well.

Mid Barrels

Mid Barrels

Two dark blue and grayish barrels are positioned at the Top Mid near the Palm.

Right Side Mid / Mid Cubby

Right Side Mid / Mid Cubby

The Right Mid corner with a set of boxes is located closer to the Top Mid. It’s one of the safest hiding spots across the Mid, often used as a place to take cover from snipers.

Suicide

Suicide

The dangerous passage in front of the ledge at T Spawn is known as a "Suicide." Since CTs frequently station AWPers watching this area—everyone hanging there is pretty doomed. So, the name sticks.
