CS Thera Callouts

In June 2024, Thera was introduced as a playable map in Counter-Strike 2 (it’s actually a remake of a bomb-defusal map from CS:GO titled “Santorini”). Set on a stunning volcanic island in Greece, its two-layered design can easily throw you off. Thus, it’s essential to get familiar with the main CS2 Thera callouts.

Thera Callouts

T-Spawn

T-Spawn

T-Spawn is the place from where terrorists kick off their attacks on A or B sites. This location provides you with the space for various maneuvers. Thus, you can slip into Secret, head for Top-Mid, rush to Under, or swing through the Double Doors via Upper. You can also hang back behind the T-Spawn, waiting to ambush any enemies to come in an attempt to push your positions.

Secret

Secret

This is one of the most vital Thera callouts because if your team plans to hit B-Plant, you’ll likely want to sneak through the Secret (sometimes it’s also called “Tunnel”). It takes you straight to the Stairs, so always check for enemies up top, especially if no one’s covering Mid for you.

Stairs

Stairs

The Stairs can come in handy when you want to puzzle your enemies from the CT-Side. From this location, you may continue your way to B-Plant or swing into Mid, head to the Double Doors, or set up a surprise attack on A-Plant. In addition, you can also move into Middle from this position and back up your AWPer by picking off enemies lurking somewhere around the Window.

CT-Spawn

CT-Spawn

The counter-terrorists spawn relatively close to the A-Plant. At the same time, from here, they can establish excellent control over Mid through the Window.

Truck

Truck

This location got its callout after the armored military truck parked in the middle of the square. From this position, you can make your way to the Window to enter Mid. Also, you can move toward A-Plant via the Platform (perfect for defending A-Plant) or rush to the Bar (ideal for an unexpected attack if terrorists have already planted the bomb). Finally, you can simply head to B-Plant through the Cliff.

Cliff

Cliff

If you’re holding down B-Plant, you’ll likely pass through the Cliff. From her, you can establish fire control over the Connector to prevent the enemies from pushing from Mid. However, if terrorists take the Donut route to B-Plant, you won’t see them from this position. Thus, it’s recommended to move in closer so you can hear when they're planting the bomb.

Window

Window

This is undoubtedly one of the simplest CS Thera callouts to remember. It’s actually just a big window that gives you a clear view of Mid. At the same time, be ready that there is a 100% chance your enemies will almost always expect you here. Thus, they might take shots at you not only from Top Mid, but also from the Double Doors or the Stairs.

Middle

Middle

Of course, it’s impossible to imagine reviewing the renewed CS:GO Thera callouts without mentioning Middle (or simply Mid). All in all, six paths lead here—from the Window, the Trash, the Double Doors, the Stairs, the Connector, and Top Mid.

Upper

Upper

When terrorists push A-Plant, Upper is a solid option to consider. These long stairs take you to the Cliff, where you can drop down directly in front of the Double Doors. From here, you can establish fire control over the Catwalk, ensuring you’ll stop the enemy if they decide to make their way to Mid from A-Plant.

Double Doors

Double Doors

The Double Doors aren’t just for the terrorists to catch the enemy AWPer by surprise. One of the CT-Team players can jump through them, sneak into Mid, and make some accurate shots, backing up their teammates in the Window. Just know that pulling off this maneuver can take some time.

Trash

Trash

Undoubtedly, the Trash might not be the prettiest spot on the map among all CS:GO Thera map callouts. But still, it’ll stand you in good stead if you play as a counter-terrorist and want to enter Mid from A-Plant as quickly as possible. However, if you’re planning to take out the enemy AWPer from this position, you better have a sniper rifle or at least an assault rifle on hand—otherwise, your chance to perform this trick successfully will be close to 0—your odds are really slim!

Top Middle

Top Middle

Usually, the terrorists’ AWPer will come into Mid from Top Middle. But given the map’s layout, it might be smart for the whole team to rush Middle, take out the enemy in the Window, and then, after this, launch a surprise attack on either site. You can even split your team and hit both bombsites to confuse the CTs.

B-Plant

B-Plant

B-plant is located on the lower level of the map. Due to this, it’s difficult for CT to establish fire control over this position. You can enter B-plant only from the Donut or the Connector. Take into account that the narrow corridors around B make this location ideal for using shotguns, especially with enemies hiding behind boxes or in corners.

Donut

Donut

Here, we come to one of the most amusing and funniest Thera callouts in CS2. The location got its name after its round shape with the pillar in the center. You can throw a well-placed flashbang or smoke to the Connector from this position (just look for a big hole in the ceiling and throw your nades there).

Connector

Connector

The Connector links B-Plant to Mid. The CT can establish partial fire control over it from the Cliff. A well-coordinated T-Side strategy would involve pushing into B-Plant from both the Connector and the Donut to minimize the risk of an ambush prepared by the enemies.

Above B

Above B

This is one of the most straightforward CS2 Thera map callouts because this spot sits right above B-Plant. This is an excellent position for the members of the CT-Team because it offers perfect control over the Connector and the Stairs. Plus, you’ll hear when the terrorists move through Donut or start planting the bomb.

A-Plant

A-Plant

Finally, we reach the final group of Thera map callouts. All of them are situated around A-Plant.

Catwalk

Catwalk

You can access Catwalk from the Trash, the Double Doors, or Upper. This position provides a decent view of A-Plant. At the same time, you won’t be able to see the enemies hiding on the Platform, inside the Bar, or on the Ramp. Thus, if you’re pushing into A-Plant from this location, be sure to check the mentioned positions carefully.

Bar

Bar

The Bar is undoubtedly one of the coolest Thera callouts in CS. It’s also sometimes called “Piano.” This location is a tiny bar with windows facing A-Plant. CTs can use it to set up an ambush position. Also, if you’re rushing A-Plant after the bomb’s been planted, the Bar can be a good entry point, especially while your teammates push from the Platform or the Catwalk.

Platform

Platform

No doubt, the Platform is the best position for active control over the whole A-Plant. From here, you can see Under, the Ramp, and the Catwalk entrances. The only downside is that there’s no cover, so several multiple could easily take you out.

Under

Under

You can access Under from the area near Upper. This is a cellar located beneath A-plant. The terrorist can go directly to A-Plant or the Ramp from this underground shelter, making it an ideal option for a quick, combined assault. But watch out—it’s full of attractive spots for campers, so always be careful while treading here.

Ramp

Ramp

The last noteworthy location on the Thera map is the Ramp. It leads directly from Under to A-Plant. It provides an ideal view of the Platform, so if there is an enemy, you’ll have a good shot at any enemies holding that position. Nonetheless, you should keep your sides covered as you move through this narrow passage, or you might catch some bullets from above.
