Kukri Knife Case Hardened Blue Gem

Counter-Strike is known for its knives, just like Team Fortress 2 is known for its hats. Valve seems to know how to handle cosmetics, right? Currently, there are 20 types of knives you can encounter in the game, and Kukri is the newest one. Part of the first-ever CS2-specific release, the Kilowatt Case, Kukri was bound to set shockwaves across the game’s skin market.

The knife has a vicious curved blade and some unique pull-out and inspection animations. There are also as many as 12 different finishes you can get for your Kukri, with Case Hardened being probably the most popular.

This skin family is renowned for its exquisite color palettes and extreme price tags, and the Kukri ones have both in spades. What’s notable about Case Hardened is that the skin is, in fact, lots of skins: each one has a pattern number that determines its coloration. The most valuable of the bunch is a Kukri Blue Gem, an awesome variation of the skin dominated by blues instead of the usual blue-gold-yellow mix. The price of such a blade generally depends on the symmetry of its pattern and color distribution, but considering those are all rare variants of an already rare skin, you can expect it to be considerable.

What are the Differences Between Kukri Case Hardened Patterns?

Every time you unbox a Kukri knife (lucky you!), it receives a randomly generated number called “seed pattern” that determines the weapon’s coloring. To qualify as a Blue Gem, the skin has to have around 60% of its surface covered in shades of azure.  Furthermore, the CS community came up with four tiers of Blue Gems depending on the exact amount of color they have. While this distribution is quite conditional and does not always make sense, you can usually guess a Kukri Blue Gem price by considering its tier.

For example, Tier 1 patterns have only minimal traces of gold and yellow, with the blade being almost entirely blue (>90%), and can have truly exorbitant price tags. Meanwhile, a Tier 4 Kukri knife Case Hardened Blue Gem with more purple or gold will cost you much less.

Kukri Case Hardened Seeds

When looking for the best CS2 Kukri Blue Gem knife for your money, you should definitely check the full list of the skin family’s pattern seeds. This knowledge will help you evaluate the prices more accurately, and choose the pattern you’re both satisfied with and can afford.

1st Tier Kukri Case Hardened Patterns (Blue Gem)

We’ll start with the most popular Tier 1, which includes arguably the best Kukri Blue Gem knives. As the name suggests, all the blades within this group are almost totally blue. And, of course, the best Kukri Blue gem seed is the #494 pattern. But if you get any other variation from the table below, you still shouldn’t be all that disappointed, as any Counter-Strike collector will be more than happy to offer you monetary compensation.

Tier 1

494, 770, 575, 652, 618, 917, 844, 112, 891, 838, 868

Pattern #494 is a true Blue Gem, and it’s simply impossible to take your eye off this skin. It looks like it’s made of strange blue crystal, and the gold color is almost unnoticeable (93% of this model is covered in blue). The extreme rarity of this pattern makes it the most expensive Kukri Case Hardened skin in the game.

Factory New, Pattern #494

Factory New, Pattern #494, Price: $18,000+

You may notice that the blade of this rare skin has a bit more gold. However, it doesn’t mean this pattern isn’t worth your attention. The knife is still beyond amazing, and you may discover players ready to pay more than $15,000 for a top-quality #770 pattern.

Minimal Wear, Pattern #770

Minimal Wear, Pattern #770, Price: $15,000+

You can find several platforms trading the #575 skin. Even at lower float, these cost much less than their #494 and #770 cousins. Nevertheless, purchasing this high-value knife will still hit your pocket.

Well-Worn, Pattern #575

Well-Worn, Pattern #575, Price: $7,000+

The last Tier 1 Blue Gem Kukri knife in our review is the #652 pattern. As you can see, there’s even more gold hues here, but still, nearly 84% of the blade is covered in an astonishingly polished blue.

2nd Tier Patterns

Any Kukri knife Blue Gem from Tier 2 is an excellent addition to your CS2 inventory. You can buy these blades without spending all the money in the world, while the design of these Kukri knife Blue Gem patterns will still leave most other skins in the dust. The items from this group look almost perfect, and if you want to invest in CS2 skins, they may be the option for you.

Tier 2

283, 130, 721, 468, 330, 510, 798, 702, 841, 664, 629, 371, 182, 38, 881, 631, 638, 61

This is one of the most popular Tier 2 Kukri Blue Gems. It looks jaw-dropping because the golden color covers only the blade's edge, creating an interesting visual effect. Moreover, unlike Tier 1 knives, this skin is available at a much more reasonable price. So, if you’re not aiming to buy a completely blue Kukri, the #702 is a good version to go for.

3rd & 4-th Tier Patterns

Here we come to the blades available at the lowest Kukri knife Case Hardened Blue Gem price. Nonetheless, it doesn’t mean they don’t deserve your attention. A Kukri Blue Gem pattern from these groups is just as shiny as its more costly colleagues and will serve you in the field just as well.

As you can see, the variety of the patterns in Tier 3 and 4 is jaw-dropping. You may even confuse some of these skins with ordinary Case-Hardened models. Still, the players seem to follow the trend and go for these items rather than any other. Here are the best options you can get in these groups:

The main feature of this Tier 3 pattern is that only the middle part of the blade is covered in blue. Such an interesting design twist is probably the main reason why so many players adore this model. In addition, you can find one at a relatively low price.

The difference between the skins from Tier 4 and Tier 1 is obvious, but it’s harder to distinguish it between the neighboring patterns. In this group, you can find many blades with weird coloring. In many cases, gold covers almost 50% of the knife, making us wonder why those don’t deserve the title of Kukri Case Hardened Blue Gem, while some less attractive variants get a place in the list. Take a look at the #322, for instance. Would you guess that it belongs to Tier 4 if we didn’t tell you?

Conclusion

It doesn’t matter which variation of the Kukri Blue Gem blade you get, it’ll probably become a true diamond of your CS2 collection. Nonetheless, take into account that this is a relatively new skin, so many patterns are still unavailable on the trading platforms. The only way to obtain those is to test your luck in opening the Kilowatt cases.
