CS2 Doppler Phases

One of the most iconic and highly desired skin patterns in CS2 is the Doppler pattern, named after Christian Doppler—an Austrian mathematician who discovered the principle of wave physics. Doppler knives phases in CS2 are highly rare and expensive, thus cherished and desired by the game community. So, we’ve decided to create a comprehensive guide to all Doppler phases to explore each phase in-depth. Whether you are a seasoned CS2 player or a collector, this guide will provide all the information you need about the CS Doppler phases, along with the different characteristics and variations you can get your hands on.

Not every knife skin has all the CS Doppler patterns. The availability of each specific Doppler knife finish is determined by chance and can greatly affect its rarity and value. The CS2 knives that can be dropped with a Doppler finish include:

  1. Karambit;
  2. (M9) Bayonet;
  3. Butterfly Knife;
  4. Flip Knife;
  5. Gut Knife;
  6. Huntsman Knife;
  7. Bowie Knife;
  8. Talon and Ursus;
  9. Stiletto and Navaja;
  10. Falchion and Shadow Daggers;

As for the knives that don’t have a CS Doppler pattern, the list features Skeleton Knife, Classic, Paracord, Survival Knife, and Nomad. Let’s take a closer look at all the CS2 Doppler phases!

What’s Special About the Doppler Skins?

First released within the Chroma Case, the CS Doppler phases mesmerized collectors and players not only with rarity and aesthetic appeal but also with unique color patterns designed in an “Anodized Multicolored” style. The Doppler finish complements these magical, vibrant colors and is affected by pattern indexes in terms of the look.

Although Doppler skins in CS2 are the most popular, their rarity is Covert, making them highly sought-after and hard to get. An average drop chance is just 0.26 percent, so the Doppler finish can be found on ultra-rare knives. The float value of Dopplers also significantly impacts the price. The lower the float value is, the more expensive a skin is.

You can find knife skins with different Doppler phases in CS2 in several weapon cases, including:

  1. Gamma, Gamma 2 & Gamma 3;
  2. Prisma & Prisma 2;
  3. Spectrum & Spectrum 2;
  4. Dreams & Nightmares;
  5. Operation Riptide.

There are four separate styles: Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, and Black Pearl. There are also four CS2 Doppler phases that group different finishes of particular knife skins, determining the mix of red and blue colors on each skin. Depending on this combination, a pattern could be extremely rare and has its own price category:

Phase 1

Phase 2

Phase 3

Phase 4

Black and pink prevail

Purple and pink prevail

A mix of green, black, and blue

A mix of blue and black dominates but is complemented by green

Phase 1

This one is considered the second cheapest among all Doppler phases. However, the immediate price among Phase 1 Dopplers depends on the type of knives and their float value we are talking about. This category generally has lower demand among players, largely due to its relatively simplistic texture design. When it comes to rarity, you can easily find dozens of offers for Phase 1 knives on trade platforms.

However, this CS Doppler pattern has changed drastically since the new game version’s release. It now presents a merge of captivating gradient smokie strokes, covering the entire blade. In most cases, it tends to be a mix of deep blue, bright purple, pale pink, and red shades.

Price (FN): ~$186 for Gut Knife — $1,400 for Karambit!

Phase 2

The next phase is noticeably the most popular of the Dopplers and ideal for your pink loadout. Offering a decent mix of rarity and value, Phase 2 intricate design features a more detailed color scheme. Blades are covered in a mostly purple finish with a pattern of translucent black or dark blue wisps of smoke on both sides. The special style makes these Covert knives somewhat unique among players.

This is a “strong middle ground,” which will always be in high demand. Not surprisingly, the ethereal Doppler metallic finish draws the attention of many collectors as the pattern index affects the saturation of colors and the location of purple and pink areas. The brightest Doppler Phase 2 pattern is called a “pink galaxy.”

Phase 3

This phase’s standard color scheme is a black-to-green gradient. If you are looking for a relatively inexpensive option—then Doppler Phase 3 is made just for you. However, among all Doppler phases in CS2, this one has relatively low popularity as well as low prices for most knives. That’s because almost all of them look rather faded, especially when compared to Phase 4. Phase 3 Dopplers come with a color palette that is sort of bleak, which isn’t widely popular among players.

The skin’s design is harmonious, though, blending a range of different shades of green, inky blacks, earthy browns, and sometimes blue. These finishes create an array of mystical transitions that appeal to your eye if you’re a fan. So, you can easily obtain a decent Doppler Phase 3 knife skin without spending all your savings on it.

Phase 4

One of the most expensive and best Doppler phases in the game, and here, developers did their best by putting together the design. Vibrant smokie gradients of bright blue, dark black, and a touch of purple form captivating patterns that flow across the entire blade and, in some cases, the handle. Phase 4 Dopplers are a longtime passion of thousands of players worldwide. These Covert skins are fierce and eye-catching, which makes them highly popular, even though some say that Phase 2 and Phase 4 are pretty similar.

The price depends on the pattern; even if it’s Minimal Wear, you’ll need a lot of money. Another reason why this one is in such high demand among other CS2 Doppler phases is that several Phase 4 finishes look a lot like the Sapphire phase, depending on the lighting. No wonder these patterns are the second-most expensive after Phase 2.

Ruby

The Legendary Ruby Doppler pattern features a mostly mesmerizing red base with hints of black and white. The red swirls resemble blood, making this phase one of the most popular knife skins for players and collectors who want a knife with a menacing and intimidating design. The metallic paint combined with a pattern of dim smoke-like lines covers the entire blade, creating a gradient transition. Insane demand, shimmering look with intricate textures crimson like a real ruby—it’s all about Ruby Doppler knives.

In the new CS2 lighting system, Doppler Gem Ruby knives have become so bright it’s just impossible to resist having them in your loadout. Especially if you also have red gloves. The patterns change depending on the float value, affecting the texture overlay. This phase is also among the most valuable and expensive alongside Sapphires and Black Pearl. The Ruby finishes are extremely rare in the market, although there are no special variations of the Ruby pattern.

Price (FN): $605 — $13,156

Sapphire

The Sapphire is currently the most luxurious and desirable one among all Doppler knife phases, and you can understand why once you take a glance at it. Because of its unique look and high demand, a Sapphire Butterfly knife, for instance, costs more than an average Ford Fiesta. Doppler Gem Sapphire finishes strike you with a vibrant, shiny blue color mixed with slight purple strokes. The design textures of the Legendary pattern remind you of an actual sapphire gem.

It’s almost impossible to obtain Sapphire knives directly in the game, as they are ultra-rare. But if you have free money, you can add various patterns to your loadout by buying them on third-party platforms or trading. However, mind the prices—Sapphire Dopplers now have a super bright color palette in CS2, which increases their value. It’s a stunning item to have in your collection!

Price: $580 — $20,251

Color Scheme: Brighter

Rarest Sapphire Doppler Patterns

  1. Karambit | Doppler Gem Sapphire, with all its patterns, is rarely found on the market, and the price skyrockets to $14,000 (FN). The 676 pattern, for instance, costs around $6,999 (MW).
  2. M9 Bayonet | Doppler Gem Sapphire, which has the 721 pattern, is one of the rarest and most hunted out there, with the most expensive Factory New copy sold for $20,372 in 2023.
  3. Talon Knife | Doppler Gem Sapphire, with the 117 pattern, is among the top most expensive CS2 knives in 2024, valued at $12,000+.

Black Pearl

The most expensive and the rarest Doppler pattern in CS2. Although other phases have a pretty cool design, and some look quite menacing, nothing can compare to this boy. With its pearl finish, the Black Pearl is a truly unique and mind-blowing Doppler Gem pattern highly coveted by players and collectors alike. The price range depends on the pattern index, knife type, and float value.

The Ancient variation of the Black Pearl Covert skin consists of 100 percent deep black complemented by hints of faded red, purple, and yellow. This gradient mix also differs based on the pattern index. A knife’s blade is fully covered in the Black Pearl finish, looking as incredible as a dark night sky. It’s simply an exotic and exquisite Doppler phase, so it’s not surprising that you will hardly find many offers for it, even in major marketplaces, not to mention obtaining this skin in the game.

Price: $516 — $25,000+

Color Scheme: Duller

Rarest Black Pearl Doppler Skins

  1. Butterfly Knife | Doppler Black Pearl with the 374 pattern and 0.0001924584 float costs almost $22,000 (FN).
  2. You won’t find any currently available Gut Knife and M9 Bayonet with the Doppler Black Pearl finish on the market. There are only six existing Bayonet Black Pearls in total!
  3. The rarest of them all are Doppler Black Pearl knives with Minimal Wear.

Gamma Doppler Emerald

This series also has four CS2 Gamma Doppler phases crowned by the fifth skin—Legendary and exotic Emerald finish. The shimmeringly green pattern that resembles the emerald gem is one of the most iconic finishes in the game’s history and, ultimately, one of the best Gamma Doppler phases in CS2. It’s as equally desirable and among the rarest skins as the Sapphire finish. Collectors and players spend substantial amounts of money to acquire the Doppler Gem Emerald.

The marbleized design covers the entire blade and simply shines in its extraordinary, exclusive wavy textures. There are no bad pattern indexes for the Emerald phase, but almost 90 percent of them are extremely hard to get among all Doppler phases. However, drop chances for Emeralds are higher than for Sapphires or Rubies.

Price: $255 — $18,000+

Rarest Emerald Doppler Skins

  1. Butterfly Knife | Gamma Doppler Emerald with the 680 and 705 patterns are the top contenders, valued at $13,500+ in Minimal Wear.
  2. Karambit | Gamma Doppler Emerald with the 744 and 745 patterns are difficult to find on the market. The price range reaches up to $16,500+ for a StatTrak version.

Note: the prices listed above can vary depending on factors such as knife rarity, condition, supply, and market demand. However, they provide a general idea of the value of each Doppler phase.

Conclusion

There you have it: all the CS2 Doppler phases explained. The Doppler pattern is a dream design on knife skins that is identified by different color palettes and pattern indexes. These skins vary in rarity and float value; hence, the prices of Doppler phases in CS2 also differ depending on those factors. The presence of a Doppler skin like Black Pearl or Sapphire in a professional player’s inventory can significantly affect its value and desirability among collectors and other players. You can obtain Dopplers through knife case drops, trading, or purchasing on marketplaces. However, getting a specific phase, pattern, or type of a Doppler knife is difficult and requires patience, persistence, or a considerable money stash.

| In the competitive world of CS2 skins, the most expensive knives in CS2 can fetch prices in the thousands, with items like the StatTrak Karambit | Gamma Doppler Emerald and the M9 Bayonet | Ruby standing out as iconic rarities.
