CS Italy Callouts
Contents
Despite how fun the mode is, there’s currently just two Hostage Rescue maps in CS. One of them is Italy, introduced to us by Valve back in 2000. It has seen several redesigns over the years but is still going on strong as players enjoy it even in competitive modes. So, if you’re a fan of hostage-rescuing games, learning Italy map callouts is an easy way to get an edge over the competition in your next match. So, let’s explore what the most popular CS Italy callouts are, how to navigate them, and what these locations are commonly used for.
T SIDE
T Spawn
Let’s begin our list of CS2 Italy callouts with the bad guys’ starting point. The spawning location is a square near the T headquarters and stairs that lead to the Mid.
T House
As the name suggests, it’s the building occupied by the Terrorist side, where one of the hostages is held on the second floor.
Snipe Window
A window with open shutters located on the second floor of the T House. It’s a great position for a sniper to cover the top Mid or the key T Tunnel area.
Balcony
A cozy hiding spot, an actual Italian balcony, accessible to you on the left from the Snipe Window in the T House. It allows for checking out the T Tunnel arch and top Mid for incoming rivals.
T Tunnel
One of the oldest Italy callouts, the Tunnel represents an enclosed straight pathway, serving as a stealthy route for the Ts to rush Counter-Terrorists’ locations from the Market side, for example, or avoid direct confrontations on Mid.
T Front Door
An entrance to the hostage holding location—an actual front door of the T House.
T Downstairs
It’s simply the first floor of the T House, where you can hide and wait for opponents to ambush them and prevent hostage rescuing.
T Upstairs
The T House’s second-floor area is where you’ll see one of the hostages.
MID
T Stairs
You’d want to fight really hard for this nexus point, as it’s critical for controlling the T Spawn’s upper level and dictating a match's tempo. The T Stairs can get you to multiple attack paths, including the Mid and Long, from where CTs usually rush.
T Mid
It’s that central area where the action is always heated up. Among other CS2 Italy map callouts, this is one of the most important to control and seize regardless of which side you play. However, Terrorists always have a head start here, as the Mid offers them a bird’s eye view of all essential routes to pivotal locations.
T Bridge
A mini-bridge built in a typically Italian style at the top Mid, accessible from the T Spawn. CTs must be careful when confronting opponents near this location, and it wouldn’t hurt to learn some useful smokes for covering the T Bridge and giving your teammates a few valuable seconds to cross the street safely.
Connector
This direct but hidden pathway connects the T Tunnel and Mid, so you can access it from both locations.
CT Mid
It’s the same old Mid, but from the CTs’ perspective. You can reach it through either the Left Street, Connector, or Right Street.
Left Street
This lateral alleyway provides a flanking route that is accessible if you turn right near the CT Stairs or left from the Right Street.
Right Street
You’d want to take this strategic route if you’re rushing the T Spawn from the Market’s side of the map, aiming for the Mid.
Mid Boost
In CS:GO, it was a beloved spot where players could boost each other to get an elevated position on the Mid that allowed for gaining visual advantage for riflers and snipers. Counter-Strike 2 removed this ability, so now it doesn’t work, but you have a small corner on the left from this spot, where you can also hide and wait for opponents coming to you from the Left Street.
Green Boxes
Along with several other Italy callouts in CS2, you might not recognize this location at first glance. That’s because there were several green dumpsters before the “new era.” So, now you’ll see just some car tier, one dumpster, one trash can (also green, yes), and a direct pathway through an open door to the apartments that will lead you to the Bedroom.
LONG
Stairs Room (Booth)
It’s one of the old CS Italy callouts, as there used to be a room that connected Stairs to Long from the CT Side. Now, it’s a hotspot with a closed ice cream booth between two small alleys— the Stairs and Long. That’s why this location is called the Booth in CS2.
Long
It’s one of the most crucial CS Italy map callouts for your games. This extended pathway has seen copious amounts of blood over the years, as it’s one of the fastest way to the Wine Cellar, where one of the hostages is held down below.
Bedroom
It was once a real bedroom before the map was redesigned for CS2. Now, it’s a room next to the Long that has some boxes, a desk, and a bookshelf. Be careful: It’s always hot there due to frequent close-quarter duels.
House
The most straightforward way to access Bedroom and Long. Close-combat fights in this spot never dissapoint!
Upper Cellar
Accessible from Long, this elevated cellar can grant an element of surprise to the side that claims it first. It’s also the first small room you must cross to get to the hostage.
Mid Cellar
The next Wine Cellar’s level—the middle one, as the name suggests.
Lower Cellar
In this below-ground area, you’ll find one of the hostages. Be sharp here; Terrorists will be waiting for you, guarding the poor victim.
CT SIDE
CT Spawn
Another Italian square where Counter-Terrorists spawn at the start of each round.
CT Left
It’s a narrow alleyway to the left of the CT Spawn leading towards the center of the map and Stairs.
Stairs
Take this pathway if you need to reach Long ASAP. Run up those stairs after you exit the CT Left alley.
Below Stairs
If your team decides to split up, the area beneath the Stairs has a stealthy pathway to the Left Street and Mid.
CT Right
A mirror of the CT Left flank route from the CT Spawn. Often used to attack Bedroom and Market.
House Window
Once upon a time, in CS:GO, there was a window here. It allowed players to peek into and out of the house, but Valve decided that it’s too much. Now, it's just a wall with some decorative windows! However, on the left, you can see a door leading to the House apartments. It also provides access to the Bedroom aperture through which one can survey the location or defend against enemy attacks.
Market
This zone is definitely one of the most iconic Italy callouts in CS2! This authentic Italian marketplace is an open area with three entry points, and sees a lot of fierce gunfights because of it. Controlling this location is super hard but can easily win you the round!
Trash Corner
This enclosed space between a building and an alley wall works well as a hiding spot if you plan to ambush Ts advancing from the T Tunnel. In CS:GO, it was full of trash lying on the ground.
Stop
The right corner of the T Tunnel’s entrance from the CT Side, where you can set an ambush for enemies coming from the T Spawn.
Conclusion
That’s about it for CS2 Italy callouts, folks! The map is currently available in Casual, Competitive, and Deathmatch game modes, so learning it makes a lot of sense. Contrary to what we’re used to in bomb defuse scenarios, there are no such things as Italy A site callouts or Italy B site callouts. Instead, CS2 pro teams usually divide the map into parts by hostages’ locations.
