The 7.40 Patch Update in Dota 2

The new 7.40 patch in Dota 2 released on the sixteenth of December has completely changed our favorite MOBA. Let’s check what to expect from this update once you launch the game!

Largo — New Hero

First and foremost, Valve has finally added a new hero — Largo, the bard frog. This is a strength support with a variety of team-boosting skills. Largo already has Aghanim’s upgrades and even a facet. Also, Valve has released a cool comic to reveal this hero’s lore.

Map Redesign

The battlefield has been changed once again, and its new design aims to improve the visual aspects of the game. The wisdom altars are now placed in the water, waterfalls cover the protective gates near base exits, and bridges have finally received fancy models.

Neutral Items’ Changes

While some artifacts have been removed, Valve still added some new items to include in your core builds. The table below includes removed, added, and changed neutrals.

Reworked Heroes

The update has affected almost all heroes. Nonetheless, Lone Druid, Slark, and Treant Protector have received the most updates, which completely change their gameplay (e.g., Druid’s Spirit Bear can now act like an actual hero with its own talent tree).

Gameplay Updates
