Show Off Update of 17.09.2025 CS2

Valve released a CS2 update on September 17, introducing a bundle of awesome skins and improvements. So, let’s dive deeper into the new in-game changes and review the most important ones!
Genesis Collection

First and foremost, the developers have pleased the fans with the new Genesis Collection, featuring 17 eye-catching skins designed by the community contributors. However, opening this case differs from what we’re used to, since players now receive terminals during the weekly drop, which they can unseal for free.

Once you unseal the terminal, you start receiving the random skin offers from the dealer, which you can purchase (for real money) or pass (up to 5 times). When you finally accept the deal, the terminal will destroy itself, providing you with the bought weapon in your inventory. Also, consider that this type of case disappears within three days of being unsealed, or if you refuse all 5 offers.
Spectator Loadout
Finally, you have something to do when you die during the match. Thus, you can press “F” to check your teammates’ loadouts and provide them with style tips, even if no one asks. Note that this feature may slightly drop your FPS. Plus, in the skin inspection panel, you can use zoom and pan for a more detailed review of the patterns and applied stickers.

Enhanced Map Scripting
We also have some excellent news for map makers, as Valve has released a JavaScript-based scripting system, including a demo where you can test it. The community contributors have already liked this change as it allows creating Workshop maps that support more complex gameplay mechanics.
Sound Improvements
One of the most significant changes in the update includes the introduction of higher-fidelity sounds for each nade. As a result, using and reviewing these utilities feels more exciting and realistic.
