Karambit Crimson Web

The claw-like Karambit knife is a treat for any CS player desiring a bit of viciousness in their games, And adding something like the bloody-like painting of the Karambit Crimson Web skin into the mix makes the whole thing ten times better.

But did you know that there’s actually several Karambit Crimson Web patterns, and some of these can radically change the knife’s price? You’ve probably already heard a lot about pattern indexes and how important they are, and while Crimson Webs has nothing on the legends like Case Hardened Blue Gems, the skin family still has a lot of nuance, tiers and all. So, what are the visual differences between different patterns here, and how do they impact the prices? Does the Karambit Crimson Web seed category matter all that much, and how to get the rarest tiers? We’ll answer all these questions in today’s guide.

What is Special About the Karambit Crimson Web?

Let’s start with some history. Karambit Knife Crimson Web dates all the way back to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, released on14th August 2013. The Arms Deal update had two cases, and both contained Crimson Web Karambits, which makes the skin one of the oldest in the game.

The name of the skin speaks for itself — it’s a bunch of menacing spider webs on a bloody-red background. That’s what the skin’s pattern template looks like:

Crimson Web pattern

A skin’s pattern determines which part of this picture the skin will display on its surface. As you can see, the webs are not evenly spread across the sheet, meaning the patterns can have higher or lower concentration of these. The parts with lower web concentration are sometimes called wrong webs, and are considered less desirable. In the following image, you can see the correct (green) and wrong (orange) web centers on a Karambit knife:

Web centers on a Karambit knife

Any knife with a claim to the title of the best Karambit Crimson Web pattern will have one or more of these “correct” webs prominently displayed in the center of its blade. If the web is closer to the edge of the blade, the pattern is unlikely to command much value.

There are just a few patterns that can boast such a high web concentration, making such gems quite rare. However, a pattern index barely impacts the price of the Crimson Web Karambit, especially when compared to the likes of Case Hardened. In the case of Karambit, index is secondary to float, and a rare pattern will do little to increase the price of a battle-scarred knife.

Is It Considered a Rare Pattern If There Are Two Webs on a Knife?

Of course, some of the CS2 Karambit Crimson Web patterns have two web centers on a single blade. While such combos positively work with the CS2 Slaughter pattern types, it is rarely considered an advantage when dealing with Crimson Webs. A Karambit knife’s main feature is its curved blade, which also means a limited edge surface. Having too many details on a small surface isn’t the best idea, so having a single web in the center of the blade is more than enough.

As you can see in the following screenshot, a Crimson Web knife without double centers costs even more if it has a better float index.

Karambit Crimson Web Seeds

Despite the fact that the Karambit Crimson Web price mostly depends on the wear index, the CS community has already defined the typical three tiers of the skin’s patterns. The first tier includes the patterns that have the spider’s web placed roughly at the center of the blade, while the lower ones have it either somewhere else on the knife’s surface or on its edge.

Let’s review a few examples from each tier in more detail.

1st Tier

Almost all tier 1 patterns have a “correct” web right at the center of the blade. Only the 92nd one has a slight deviation, and can be considered a potential second tier. While still less important than a good float, having one of these patterns on your knife will certainly improve its values.

If you want to buy the very best Karambit Crimson Web seed you better be ready to spend some time searching for one. We found only a single first tier skin on the trading platforms (we’ve also noted that Field-Tested wear drops the knife’s price below a thousand-dollar mark). True beauty, as they say, has a price.

Tier 1 patterns: 10, 21, 59, 60, 86, 92, 112, 148, 162, 172, 189, 235, 251, 257, 309, 310, 324, 334, 377, 390, 411, 453, 460, 461, 515, 526, 532, 571, 629, 689, 779, 786, 803, 813, 842, 904, 911, 958, 964, 977, 983.

2nd Tier

All the patterns from the second tier list have clear deviations of the web’s focal point from the blade’s center. Of course, one can still easily see the point where a spider began to weave its net, but its location is more random than what you’ll find in the elite first tier.

At the same time, the tier’s market spread remains quite limited, with only a single tier-2 knife available for sale at the time of writing. It’s another Field-Tested skin, and will cost you around $800. In terms of price to quality ratio, the second tier looks far less attractive as the visuals here are considerably worse, while the cost stays almost the same.

Tier-2 patterns: 16, 17, 19, 22, 30, 32, 40, 43, 48, 52, 54, 113, 117, 123, 125, 133, 215, 231, 233, 242, 245, 379, 388, 397, 412, 421, 423, 464, 485, 506, 520, 544, 550, 614, 619, 627, 662, 687, 699, 716, 718, 723, 724, 740, 746, 815, 818, 821, 832, 914, 932, 934, 940, 948, 962, 965.

3rd Tier

The third tier knives have the web center located somewhere on the blade edge. Nonetheless, for a skin to qualify for the tier, the origin point of the web should still be easy to spot.

The availability is surprisingly weak, with only two patterns available for sale right now. And if you expected a price drop for the third tier, you'll be in for a nasty surprise, as the price tag can easily reach 900 dollars or more (once again, float is far more important than the price here).

Tier 3 patterns: 3, 5, 20, 33, 41, 44, 46, 55, 57, 70, 85, 99, 107, 110, 111, 246, 252, 255, 263, 266, 273, 275, 281, 284, 288, 498, 501, 503, 504, 511, 512, 513, 886.

How to Get Karambit Crimson Web Skin?

There are a few ways to get the Crimson Web skin for Karambit. The longest, most unpredictable, and probably the most expensive method is to open one of the CS2 cases that drop Karambit knives. There are 11 cases you can try your luck with, but the chances of unpacking the knife are about 0.1% or even less. It means one chance in a thousand, meaning you’ll have to spend around $2500 on keys alone, plus the cost of each case.

As we already discussed in our Karambit Crimson Web guide, rare patterns are far easier to acquire on skin trading platforms. If you are OK with having a knife in Minimal Wear or Field-Tested condition, finding a pattern you like shouldn’t be a problem.
