Dota 2 Neutral Items

Valve developers are constantly working on enhancing the game features and introducing new mechanics. One such update brought Dota 2 neutral items, a game-changing addition that revolutionized strategies across the board.

Much like the usual items, these artifacts provide players with specific bonuses. The more powerful the neutral item, the greater the benefits it offers. At the same time, choosing the right item to complement your hero's abilities or compensate for their weaknesses is crucial. That’s why understanding neutral items is an absolute must for every player.

What Are Neutral Items?

A player can’t simply buy neutral items in Dota 2. Instead, you need to defeat neutral creeps in the forest to obtain them. Nonetheless, there are some gameplay mechanics features you need to know before you run to the forest and take down everything in sight there just to equip a Pig Pole that can turn you into a pig.

Core Features

The interesting fact is that Dota neutral items have their own dedicated slot in the player’s inventory and a stash near the fountain. Some of these artifacts provide you with passive bonuses, such as the +5% Mana Loss Reduction from Fairy’s Trinket, while others require activation to offer you their benefits, like the Arcane Ring.

When you kill a neutral creep, you may see its body dropping an unusual chest. When you collect it, a token will appear in your neutral item slot. As soon as you activate it, you’ll be able to choose one of five artifacts. Consider that you won’t be able to change the consequences of your selection later.

All in all, a team may discover up to five neutral items of each tier in their forest. At the same time, you can invade the enemy's side to discover and steal their neutral items. Of course, you take risks every time you enter the hostile forest, so if you don’t want to get in a trap, it’s strongly recommended to use Observer wards and farm creeps on your side of the map.

Neutral Item Tiers

Neutral items are divided into five tiers. The higher a tier is, the stronger the artifact’s effects are. Nonetheless, it’s possible to obtain these items only after certain minutes of the match:

  1. Tier 1: Available after the 7th minute.
  2. Tier 2: Available after the 17th minute.
  3. Tier 3: Available after the 27th minute.
  4. Tier 4: Available after the 37th minute.
  5. Tier 5: Available after the 60th minute.

How to Get Neutral Items

All in all, there are only two ways to obtain neutral items in Dota. Right now, we’ll review both of them!

Farming Neutral Creeps

Dota 2 neutral items locations are essentially the camps of neutral creeps. So, if you want to receive these artifacts, you just need to go to the forest and start killing mobs there. Consider that the chance of getting a neutral item is doubled if you farm Ancient creeps. Remember, it’s safer and more efficient to farm neutral creeps on your side of the map.

Sharing and Managing Neutral Items

Each player can open only one neutral token per tier, and the artifacts they receive cannot be shared directly with teammates. At the same time, duplicate tokens automatically move to the neutral items stash near the fountain, where allies can activate them. This system allows one player to supply their entire team with artifacts from the forest.

Conclusion

Now that you’re familiar with the Dota 2 neutral item tier list, it’s just the right time to put your knowledge into action. Enter training mode, enable cheats, and test each artifact to find out how it impacts your favorite heroes. Understanding these items can give you the edge you need to dominate the battlefield!
