CS2 Rethrow Grenade Command

The current popularity of Counter-Strike 2 is massively dependent on the game’s massive Esports scene. wThere isn’t a player in the world who’s not amazed by the sharp aim and perfect grenade lineups of the pro gamers. The latter skill is often a hard-earned result of the dozens of hours spent seeking interesting nade spots. If you aim to one day reach a similar level of mastery, you should definitely consider using the CS2 rethrow grenade command.

If you’ve never used console commands before or need more explanations as to how this command works, keep reading!

How Does This Command Work?

After reaching a certain level of shooting consistency, many players stop making progress and cannot rank up. This is mainly because of the stronger opponents, who have roughly the same aim but demonstrate better teamplay, including supporting grenades.

Thankfully, finding useful grenade spots does not require any superhuman skills. Still, learning even a few interesting grenade spots forces players to spend hours finding new lineups, and that is where the CS2 command to rethrow a grenade comes to the rescue.

It works just as it sounds — when you enter this command or click the bound key, the game will replay your last grenade throw from the position where you performed it, including all of the nade’s effects. It is especially useful for learning and polishing flashbang grenades and checking their effect from different angles. However, other utilities like smokes, Molotovs, and HE grenades can also be checked for effectiveness with this command.

Of course, grenade rethrow is a supporting command, so it cannot be used in the official matchmaking games (but can still bring some fun into games with bots). You can press the bound key a few times in a second and see your nade turn into a rainfall:

How to Rethrow the Last Grenade in CS2

The rethrow command is pretty straightforward to use, but it still has its nuances. For example, you can use it only on the local practice servers with in-game cheats activated, which requires another console command. Here’s what you need to do:

1. Enable Developer’s Console

Go to Settings, choose the Keyboard/Mouse tab, and then UI Keys. Find the Toggle Console row and set up the activation key. By default, the key is tilde “~” (located right below the Esc button).

Enable Developer’s Console

2. Launch the Practice Map

Go to the Play menu and then select Practice and Casual. Choose the map you want to train on and click Play.

Launch the Practice Map

3. Open the Console

Press the tilde (your the key you set up) to open the developer’s console.

4. Activate “Cheats”

Use the “sv_cheats 1” command to activate the advanced developer options and enable the rethrow command.

Activate “Cheats”

5. Enter the Rethrow Command

Type sv_rethrow_last_grenade and press Enter. Remember, this command won’t work until you throw at least one grenade.

How to Bind the Rethrow Last Grenade in CS2?

As you might've guessed, typing the command each time you want to rethrow a grenade can get exhausting pretty fast. The good news, though, is that rethrow is a typical console command, which can be bound to a specific button. To bind the CS2 rethrow last grenade command, use the following:

bind k sv_rethrow_last_grenade

You can replace “k” with any key you want to use. After you do so, every “k” press will activate a rethrow.

Keep in mind that you’ll need to activate the sv_cheats each time you reenter the practice map, but once you do it several times, it shouldn’t be too difficult.
