The Anubis map joined the official map pool on November 18, 2022, just after the Rio Major 2022. Then, ahead of the final Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Major in Paris in May 2023, Valve released the Anubis Collection on April 25, 2023. The container included 19 new weapon skins, all of which had a clear link to the Anubis map and ancient Egyptian themes.
In mid-July 2025, Anubis was replaced by Overpass, but it returned to the competitive pool in early 2026. Naturally, the Anubis skins collection came back into focus as well, and players began looking at its themed skins with fresh eyes. That is why we decided to revisit the full set and explore its visual ties to Anubis, its recent popularity, and some of the smaller details that are easy to miss.
M4A4 | Eye of Horus

The only Covert item in the CS2 Anubis Collection is the M4A4 | Eye of Horus, which serves as the crown jewel of the entire set. First, it has one of the strongest links to the Anubis theme. Horus is one of the most influential deities in ancient Egyptian mythology, and the Eye of Horus remains one of its most recognizable symbols. Second, the skin looks really unique and memorable, featuring rich golden ornaments and contrasting colors, including a falcon that directly references Horus himself. Finally, players clearly appreciated this combination of theme and design, helping turn it into one of the most expensive CS2 M4A4 skins.
FAMAS | Waters of Nephthys

With a limited number of quality skins for the FAMAS, the Classified-tier Water of Nephthys has a clear advantage over much of the competition. Its name adds extra depth to the design by referencing the ancient Egyptian goddess Nephthys, giving the skin a mysterious atmosphere. Overall, the design features a bright green-to-blue gradient with small lighter spots scattered across the rifle, making it one of the most beloved FAMAS skins.
P250 | Apep's Curse

Another weapon from the Anubis Collection in CS2 leans into a darker mythological theme through Apophis, also known as Apep. The snake-like enemy of Ra, the sun god, is depicted on the grip, eternally doomed to lose the nightly battle against the rising sun. This idea carries throughout the design as well, with warm gold tones dominating the weapon to symbolize the sun’s inevitable victory. Unsurprisingly, it has become one of the most popular P250s in the game, with a solid price tag.
Glock-18 | Ramese's Reach

Rameses’s Reach may only be a Restricted-tier skin, but it deserves a higher place both among Glock-18 finishes and within the Anubis Collection itself. The skin is packed with details and really needs to be viewed full-screen to appreciate everything beyond the central eye, Ramses imagery, and the Egyptian landscape. On closer inspection, you can spot reaching hands, a scorpion, a beetle, a mummy, and candles, all combined into this underrated design that has earned plenty of fans.
P90 | ScaraB Rush

The ancient Egypt theme carries over even for cheaper weapons, and this time, the scarab beetles became the main idea. Those insects appear ready to burst from the P90’s buttstock and likely join the classic Counter-Strike tactic of rushing the B site (hence the name). With relatively few standout P90 skins, this one feels bright and distinctive, especially when paired with a few creative stickers.
Nova | Sobek's Bite

Crocodiles held an important place in ancient Egyptian mythology, and Sobek represented fear and respect associated with this powerful reptile. Unfortunately, most of the visual attention goes to the familiar multicolored geometric pattern set against a dark background, while a small image of Sobek’s head appears near the trigger. This skin also makes you wonder why this theme ended up on the Nova rather than the XM1014, often nicknamed the “Crocodile shotgun.”
AWP | Black Nile

Dropping down to the Mil-Spec tier, we have one of the best cheap AWP skins in the game, called Black Nile. The Nile, the longest river on Earth, is another symbol of Egypt and early civilizations, so it naturally earned its place in the Anubis Collection. The transition from the Global Offensive to CS2 gave the design new life, with updated visual depth making the finish feel more dynamic. Interestingly, the Battle-Scarred version can look even better, as the wear gives the rifle a golden or copper-like tone.
AK-47 | Steel Delta

Continuing the Egyptian theme within the Anubis skins collection, the AK-47 | Steel Delta draws inspiration from the Nile Delta, one of the most famous river deltas in the world. The simple steel coloring keeps the rifle dark and relatively affordable, while the network of branching lines adds a distinctive visual touch that makes the design stand out.
Tec-9 | Mummy's Rot

Of course, the designers did not forget about mummies, one of the most iconic relics of ancient Egypt. Golden-dark bandages wrap around most of the Tec-9, resembling a buried body, while illustrations of Egyptian deities on the magazine complete the theme.
MAG-7 | Copper Coated

With the MAG-7 | Copper Coated, the designers seem to lean into the look of orange-brown metal, as if the shotgun had been covered in a layer of copper and finished with a few geometric accents. At the same time, the flowing brown patterns resemble the swamp mud, as if someone accidentally dropped the MAG-7 into the muddy banks of the Nile.
M4A1-S | Mud-Spec

This Industrial Grade M4A1-S almost looks like it was designed for combat along the muddy banks of the Nile, featuring rough camouflage suitable for wet, sandy terrain. In reality, the design is fairly simple, consisting mainly of mud-like stains across the weapon. The name Mud-Spec essentially tells you almost everything you need to know before inspecting the skin.
USP-S | Desert Tactical

Sometimes, simple visual ideas work perfectly for CS skins, and the Desert Tactical USP-S is a good example. Light brown tones and stains evoke a desert-like appearance, while the red trigger stands out and almost invites you to pull it. Interestingly, Battle-Scarred versions appear even lighter and can resemble worn, rusted metal surprisingly well.
SSG 08 | Azure Glyph

This SSG 08 | Azure Glyph feels somewhat underrated, offering a distinctive design without costing much. Azure tones cover a lot of the rifle’s surface, while ancient Egyptian glyphs and symbols make the theme easy to recognize. Although it lacks the bright colors of some Scout skins, it still feels far more interesting than many more expensive options.
MAC-10 | Echoing Sands

While most people associate Egypt with pyramids, desert dunes can be just as impressive. This seems to be the inspiration behind the Echoing Sands design for the MAC-10, where wave-like sand patterns create a soft, textured appearance. However, the darker beige and muted yellow palette prevents the skin from feeling especially eye-catching.
AUG | Snake Pit

Snake Pit combines the desert environment with the danger of snakes, resulting in one of the more interesting AUG skins in the collection. That said, the lack of bright and contrasting colors keeps it from standing out as much as it could, even among Anubis Collection skins. Still, it offers more detail than you can normally expect from a Consumer Grade skin.
XM1014 | Hieroglyph

Consumer Grade does not always mean boring, and the XM1014 | Hieroglyph proves it. The shotgun features a sandy-yellow background decorated with Egyptian ornaments and numerous hieroglyphs across its most visible surface. While it lacks strong contrasting colors, the existing design still feels like it should cost more than its tier might suggest.
MP7 | Sunbaked

Random dune waves form the core of this MP7 finish, creating an interesting 3D-like effect, even though the name Sunbaked points in a slightly different direction. The narrow color palette and lack of bright tones hold it back somewhat, but the textured look of a Battle-Scarred version can still make it worth the money.
R8 Revolver | Inlay

Here is another underestimated Consumer Grade design, and it fits the core ancient Egyptian themes of the Anubis Collection surprisingly well. The grip appears to be made of ivory, while the barrel and cylinder feature snake or fish-scale patterns. The remaining parts include decorative inlay ornaments that tie the entire design together.
M249 | Submerged

Even the M249, one of the most expensive in-game weapons with questionable effectiveness, received a design connected to the Egyptian theme. The skin appears inspired by the image of an oasis, featuring blue-green waves combined with sandy-brown tones. While it is not especially flashy, it still preserves the overall concept of the skin collection.
Final Thoughts
The Anubis Collection stands out as one of the strongest examples of a skin set fully committed to its theme. Even the cheapest finishes contain small details that connect them to the map and its ancient Egyptian inspiration, although they usually rely on more muted colors. As the rarity increases, the skins become brighter, more detailed, and more visually complex, making the collection an interesting one to own or collect. That is also why even some Battle-Scarred versions can still sell for surprisingly high prices.
FAQ
Both souvenir and regular Anubis collection packages can be purchased on Steam or trusted third-party trading platforms. Additionally, during the upcoming IEM Cologne Major 2026, players will be able to exchange their tokens for Souvenir Anubis packages. These contain the same weapons but come with four gold stickers already applied.
Since map collection packages don’t require keys to open but also do not include gold-tier items, their prices usually range from $2 to $3. With eight skins worth more than the package itself, even in Battle-Scarred condition, it remains one of the most attractive map collections in the game.
With only one Covert item in the CS2 Anubis skins collection, the M4A4 | Eye of Horus is the most expensive weapon in the package, costing from about $240 to over $2,000 depending on its condition. Among other costly skins are FAMAS | Water of Nephthys (between $50 and $380) and P250 | Apep’s Curse ($30–$360). Additionally, five more skins are worth more than the price of the container itself, making the Anubis Collection one of the most attractive map collections to open.
