Best Cache Smokes in CS2
Contents

Sooner or later, every CS player starts to learn ‘nade lineups. Whether you’ve just watched a well-executed fake, had a well-placed smoke used against you, or came here by accident while wandering the net, welcome! Today, we’re going to talk about where and when to use your smokes when playing on Cache. Below, you’ll find the list of the main Cache smoke lineups along with some advice on how to use them. We’ll focus mainly on the attackers, as smokes play a larger role in their strategies, but offer some utility tips for CTs as well.
Here is the Cache layout with the callouts we’re going to use:

Most Useful Smoke Spots for Terrorists on Cache
Traditionally, grenades are more valuable for the attacking Terrorists, so let’s start with the Cache T side smokes in CS2.
T Spawn to Connector
Taking Mid is one of the key objectives on virtually every map, and Cache isn’t an exception. This is a simple lineup that will make fighting in the Mid a bit safer by blocking AWP vision from the Connector.
A Long/Garage to Quad/NBK
The A Site execution is the default strategy for the map, and here is one of the CS2 Cache smokes that is a must for taking it. The T’s lurker should throw it while his team is in the Squeaky or A Main for an immediate push.
A Long to Highway
Going to the Squeaky is always dangerous as it’s a classic chokepoint, and so covering the Highway is a good idea. You can even use this one while transitioning from the Squeaky to the B Site, distracting the enemy anchor even more.
T Truck to Default Box
Another utility that will help your team push the Squeaky that works well with the following three smokes. It is especially effective if your opponents prefer playing deep and retaking rather than simply fighting on the default positions.
A Main to A Cross (CT, Highway, Default Box)
One of the older Cache smokes, unchanged from the CS:GO version of the map. If you haven’t played on Cache all that much, try throwing this one on the go and see its benefits for yourself.
Squeaky to A Cross (Highway, CT, Under Balcony)
The Squeaky is considered dangerous not just because of its narrow exit and multiple angles that CTs might be holding, but also because of the limited opportunities for using grenades. Still, you can block the vision from the Highway, Electro, and partially the Forklift with this simple lineup.
A Long to A Balcony
Coming through the A Main isn’t much easier than going Squeaky, so covering multiple angles with a single grenade is a real holiday present. With new interaction properties, your smoke can go down, cover the Balcony, and deny the visual control from the CT Truck, New Box, Electro, and Highway.
B Halls to B Heaven
B Site executions are even tougher than arriving at A, but little gaps in the roof and simple jumpthrow can make all the difference. This one is good for blocking the vision from Heaven, although it requires some crosshair precision (try practicing it in advance).
T Boxes to Tree (CT)
Any push towards the B bombsite should isolate the position near the Three (CT/Tree Room). Luckily, the throw is pretty simple, and while the grenade is flying, you can arrive on time at the B Main.
B Halls to Tree (CT)
A variation of the same smoke, but from a closer position, useful for helping your teammates to execute the B Site faster; it’s not that hard, but it requires precise positioning and good aim.
Most Useful Smoke Spots for Counter-Terrorists on Cache
Learning Cache CT smokes may not sound as important as it is for the T side, but keeping a few lineups in mind for retakes or gaining spots can nonetheless be highly useful.
CT Truck to A Main
While the A Main smoke seems easy at first glance, the slight ramp on the edge can lead to unpredictable bounces and leave some spots visible. So, using the alternative lineup that includes jump + middle throw is simply a better choice for A-site players and in post-plant situations.
CT Spawn to A Main
Covering the A Main is a must for CTs to discourage T attacks, and doing the throw from the CT Spawn can be useful while stacking B or in cases where you play on the Mid or B Site, and your teammates don’t have utilities to support you.
Connector/CT Halls to T Mid
Covering the T Mid is another useful strategy, both at the early timings or during retakes of the Middle. This simple lineup works perfectly in both cases, leaving the player absolutely safe.
B Site to B Main/Halls
The anchors on B often need to make site execution as difficult as possible, and this deep option is better than simpler Cache CS2 smokes for the B Main. It’s better to pair it with the molly to the B Main entrance or assist your teammate on the Checkers with a flashbang.
B Heaven to B Main/Halls
This deeper variation of the covering grenade can be done at early timings and almost on the go once you learn to use the Cache smoke spots on the rafters and the wall.
B Heaven to B Main (Deep)
If you are okay with smoking the B Main entrance or need to keep it safe during retakes, this simple lineup is tailor-made for you. Just don’t forget to crouch when going into the corner to avoid players on the B plant.
Advanced Cache Smoke Combos and Setups
In this section, we’ll review the more advanced CS2 Cache smoke lineups. We’ll discuss several lineup variations that can be thrown from the same point for maximum utility.
Garage Entry to Mid (Left & Right)
These two are probably the easiest Cache smokes in CS2, and yet both are very effective. They can be thrown early into the round but are more impactful in mid-round, especially if you need to split the B site.
Sunroom to B Heaven & Tree (CT)
If you enjoy playing support, this combo from the Sunroom is a must-learn for effective T-side B executions. These two smokes can be thrown from virtually the same spot, and when combined with traditional flashbangs through the windows, will ruin the day for even the most determined B defenders.
Sunroom to B Heaven
Sunroom to Tree (B CT)
B Main to Tree (CT) & B Heaven
If you want to stay close to action but don’t want to give up on supporting your comrades, learn the two smokes launched from near the B Main entrance. These are usually thrown on the go and cover the two key positions near B main.
B Main to Tree (CT)
B Main to B Heaven
T Truck to Highway & New Box/CT Truck
For the A site combos, two of the best CS2 Cache smokes can be thrown from the T Car. The first will block the Highway vision and cut the help from the Middle, while the second will eliminate the danger from the New Box and the CT Truck players. These two are especially relevant if the CTs are playing defensively.

Conclusion
Despite its absence from the official map pool in CS2, Cache will surely return as Valve finally bought the rights for it and has even officially presented the map. To prepare for the return of В legend, start learning the best Cache smokes and remain one step ahead of your opponents.
